The Myanmar business community is optimistic about its future. Prospects are good for local as well as international business since the US sanctions were lifted recently. 92% of companies anticipate expanding their operations next year, 73% expect the business landscape in the country to improve. These are some of the findings of a business confidence survey by Roland Berger, drawing on the statements by 200 senior executives of local and international firms. Reason for this optimism is the country’s status as frontier market, the government’s commitment to reforms and a large and growing population. Listen to Dieter Billen, Principal and Head of Roland Berger Myanmar and author of the survey for his findings and advice on doing business in one of Asia’s last frontiers.
